Howard Creek Farm is located  in Howard, Colorado, just 15 minutes outside of Salida, Colorado.  We are busy prepping for construction here, and the team in Indiana is busy as well!  Here is a sneak peak of bent #3 being fully restored in Indiana. The crew there is going through each mortise and tenon connection (see the drilled holes) and carefully creating new pegs.   They are making sure the bents will go back into 1861 form when brought and reassembled in Colorado. This Bent alone contains 6 different species of hardwood and the barn overall has over 27 species of hardwood used in the timberframe beams.  Bents are timberframe structures that hold the barn up from the inside.   The Howard Creek Farm barn has 5 bents.
